We are proud of our team here at Little Stars, who always go above and beyond to provide an exciting experience for every child that spends their early educational years with us.

About us

Our primary aim is to ensure that the children have a gentle and safe transition from their home to our setting and that they enjoy their time with us. Once the children have settled we support their learning by providing stimulating opportunities to develop their interests and skills. We offer a play based curriculum which inspires children to become independent and confident learners whilst having fun and making friends. In addition, children develop the social skills and prior learning necessary for success at primary school.

At Little Stars we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance and focus on our tailored curriculum to enrich each child’s interests.

The Pre-School & Nursery is based in the Upper Hall at St Lukes Church, however we are not affiliated with the church or any other religious organisation. We welcome children from all backgrounds, religions and cultures.

What sets us apart

Our Mission Statement

At Little Stars we provide a safe, secure and stimulating educational environment in which children are valued as unique individuals, assisted by caring, experienced and qualified practitioners.

We support our children in becoming happy, inquisitive and successful learners through a balanced curriculum of child-led activities, free choice and adult led group learning.

We provide a varied range of activities that stimulate the children’s imaginations and meet their needs through our Little Stars Curriculum.

Through high expectations of behaviour and achievement, we encourage the children to develop a love of learning and a sense of awe and wonder as they grow up in a very diverse world.

Our goals

Our goal is to build and encourage a positive relationship with parents and children alike in an atmosphere of respect, security and confidence. Working together and developing good partnerships with parents helps children feel positive and encourages their learning.

"Amazingly, this well-run nursery provides the best care and attention to my boys. The attention to detail, planning and learning opportunities are excellent and both of my boys would not have developed as well as they have without the brilliant staff and support given.

With two ASD boys, Little stars have been great at helping and supporting my children in their early years journey.

Absolutely the best decision we made was to send our children here!

The staff are super attentive and very caring and have helped hugely in the development of all aspects of our boys. I can not recommend Little stars highly enough."

Our happy parents

"I have used Little Stars pre school since my first daughter and now my third and youngest daughter is here and I could not recommend them highly enough.

They have always been attentive to my children’s learning and development in a very nurturing and caring way and believe in learning through play which the children obviously love.

But what comes across the most is that this learning setting is like a family and that’s how I have felt at all times. Mandy and the team are lovely and work so hard."

The staff are always there for you if you have any concerns about your child’s development or anything at all.

Thanks for everything you do to make learning so fun for our children.

Our commitment to your childcare

Little Stars Pre-School & Nursery is a friendly, local community Pre-School that promotes a relaxed and happy atmosphere focusing on ‘Learning through Play’ within a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. We encourage each child to develop and flourish in a happy, supportive and secure setting, enabling them to be confident, challenged, and successful and to have high self-esteem.

We are open to all children aged 2 to 4yrs and predominately serve the local community in St Albans. We work in partnership with parents and local advisors to understand and provide the highest quality childcare for each child.  We offer our families friendly, high quality and affordable childcare which, where possible, allows them to access full nursery education entitlement.
