Welcome to Little Stars

We are a small, friendly pre-school & nursery based on Cell Barnes Lane, St Albans caring for children aged from 2 years to 4 years.

We are open Monday to Friday, term time only from 9am to 3pm.  We offer morning sessions (9am to 12pm) and afternoon sessions 12pm to 3pm including lunch club).  If sessions are available, you can have a combination of sessions mornings and afternoons to suit your needs.

We accept government funding – 15 hours funding (2-year old funding and 3-4 year old funding) and also 30 hours funding – please see the link below for more information from Hertfordshire County Council.

https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/schools-and-education/childcare-and-advice-for-parents/free-early-education-and-childcare/childcare-and-free-early-education.aspx

We also offer private paying sessions until your child is eligible for funding and accept all the name childcare vouchers including Tax Free Vouchers.  All 3 year old children are entitled to 15 hours funded by the government the term after they turn 3 years old i.e. January, April or September

Our primary aim is to ensure that the children have a gentle and safe transition from their home to our setting and that they enjoy their time with us. Once the children  have settled we support their learning by providing stimulating opportunities to develop their interests and skills. We offer a play based curriculum which inspires children to become independent and confident learners whilst having fun and making friends. In addition, children develop the social skills and prior learning necessary for success at primary school.

At Little Stars we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance and focus on our tailored curriculum to enrich each child’s interest by ‘In the moment Planning’

The Pre-school & Nursery is based in the Upper Hall at St Lukes Church, however we are not affiliated with the church or any other religious organisation. We welcome children from all backgrounds, religions and cultures.

Please speak to Kayleigh Burke, our manager, on 07824 774102 or send an e-mail to info@littlestarspreschoolnursery.co.uk if you would like to find out more or arrange to come for a visit.
